I was born in Oklahoma and raised between the mid-west and North Attleboro, MA. (Isn't that scary ?!) I've been playing piano (and dancing) since I was 4, learned the beginnings of what I know about guitar from my brother, on a road trip from Oklahoma to Massachusetts, when I was 11. (A long time ago, fortunately I've had time to work on it since then!) I studied theater and music at Adelphi University, on Long Island, in NY, and spent the next ten years not using any of it.
I got back into playing when I moved to Cape Cod in 1989. I played with "The Fabulous Dyketones" the summer of '92, in Provincetown, MA, attempting to play Bass guitar and sing at the same time (very difficult...hats off to Sting!) and started "Sheri Lynne and Stillwater" the very next winter. "Stillwater" (named after the city in OK) had a wonderful 7 year run as one of the most successful, all round (i.e.: Country music, Rock and Roll, Blues.. Originals etc.) bands on Cape Cod. We were a power trio, meaning, everyone who worked in the band, played an instrument and sang. It gave us terrific diversity and, as a result, wonderful fans and public appeal. Believe me...we had a BLAST! I've really appreciated the talented men that worked in "Stillwater" with me as well as all of the fabulous musicians that I've worked with over the years in "Where's Willy" (80's chick rock band), "The Similar Features Band" (Melissa Etheridge tribute band), "The Sheri Lynne Band" (my current 4 piece club band) and, of course, "The Short Sheri Project", my current duo working with Mr. Eric Short.
I'm proud to say I live on Cape Cod with my wonderful wife Naki and our two terrific dogs! (They're fresh...the dogs that is!) And that's entirely enough about me! See you at the show! Keep women's "Rock" alive!
